Andreas has a long track record in the communications and startup industry: He served as Managing Director, Senior Vice President Global Communications and Chief Spokesperson for Rocket Internet SE. Rocket is the largest European tech company builder and the investor behind startup success stories like Zalando, Delivery Hero, HelloFresh, Lazada, Global Fashion Group, Westwing, Home24 and many more. As member of the senior leadership he helped to grow the company from a small startup to a public listed, multi-billion Dollar enterprise with 40,000 employees around the globe.
Andreas also served as a Partner at Earlybird Venture Capital, one of the largest European startup investors with over 2 billion Euros assets under management, where he was in charge for all fundraising and communications.
Furthermore, Andreas worked for Axel Springer, Germany’s largest publishing house, as Spokesperson and as Digital Coordinator on the chief editorial staff of BILD, Europe’s largest daily newspaper by circulation. In both roles he supported Axel Springer’s outstanding successful transformation into Europe’s leading digital publisher.
Andreas also served as Managing Partner at Hering Schuppener, the leading consultancy for strategic communications in Germany, serving the half of the 40 largest German companies (DAX40), which is today part of the global leading consultancy Finsbury Glover Hering.
Andreas founded RCKT, an award winning, Cannes Lions decorated Berlin based communications agency, and co-founded Stylebook.de, one of the leading German speaking celebrity magazines.
He founded his first startup Winiweb with the age of 18, where he helped companies to build up online presences.
Andreas is a digital advisor to German top politicians and governments. He is a member of the c-netz advisory council, the digital think-tank of the ruling party CDU of former Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel. Furthermore, he is a member of the Prime Minister’s Digital Council of the Federal State of Saarland. He also served as a member of the Young Digital Economy Advisory Council for the Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and as a Member of the Board of the German Startups Association.
Andreas is a member of Atlantic Bridge e.V., British-German Association London, and is Vice Chairman of the Financial Council of China Bridge e.V.
Andreas was named as one of the Top10 German Venture Capitalists by WELT/BILANZ. He was recognized as one of the 25 top innovators in Europe by the leading U.S. communications magazine The Holmes Report.
His speaking engagements include appearances on tech conferences for Techcrunch, The Economist, TED or companies like Adidas, Adobe, Audi, Bayer, Deutsche Bank, Evonik, Google, Merck, Novartis, SAP, Sandoz, thyssenkrupp, and many more. His work has been featured in newspapers and magazines like Wired, USA Today, Handelsblatt, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and many more.
He holds a Master’s degree in communications, history and politics from Free University Berlin and a Diploma in business administration from Berlin School of Economics.
